Dear Grace Lin,

I'm Dr. Alpa Shah. We live in California. My 9 yr old daughter, Pooja, selected your Newbery Honor Book, "Where the Mountain Meets The Moon" for her book club and she loved it very much. She also read that book every night to her younger sister (who is 5 yr old now) who would eventually go to sleep. So when
She was asked by her teacher to make a book report, Pooja came up with an idea to make 3-D scene of one of the events. But she wanted to make a mini book with pop-up characters for her younger sister to make the reading more interactive. She drew the characters thro' her imagination and creativity. She wants to show and share some of the pop-ups with you as she is greatly inspired by your book which has brought her imagination to create and give life to the characters of your book. If you allow her to do so, I can email you some of her work on her behalf. I am sure, you'll enjoy and will be thrilled how your beautifully written book has created an impact on some of the children's minds and my daughter is one of them.

Thank you,
Alpa Shah
