Year of the Ox

I'm in warm (no winter jacket!) San Antonio, TX for a week of school visits, which means I ate Mexican food for Chinese New Year! It was beef fajitas which is kind of cow which is kind of ox...a bit of a stretch, I know. But as it's the Year of the Ox, this means it is the year hard work (with hopefully great rewards), so it is apropos that I am working! And Mexican food aside, the San Antonio teachers DO know how to get into the spirit. Great shirts, don't you think?

I'm actually quite happy not eating the zodiac symbol for each year. Last year would have been particularly unpleasant.

I do think those shirts are great and i also want to say that i am a big fan of your writing. I read the year of the dog last year and our class is now reading the year of the rat.It was so cool to find out that those books you wrote were based on your real life.

Austin-- I think eating most of the zodiac animals would be pretty unpleasant...people would be waiting eagerly for the Year of the Pig, I suppose.

Miranda--Thanks for your nice words! I hope you like my new book too, it comes out in June.
